12th International Students’ Gathering held in Bosnia Herzegovina
This year’s 12th International Students’ Gathering, organized by UDEF under the auspices of the Presidency of Republic of Turkey, which is being held in 91 cities of 51 countries, was recently held in Bosnia Herzegovina’s capital Sarajevo.
12th International Students’ Gathering was held in Bosnia Herzegovina with the slogan of “For a Just World, From East to West” by UDEF.
Rector of IUS Prof. Dr. Ahment Yildirim, Dean of IUS Faculty of Law Dr. Philip Aka, UDEF Student Unions Coordinator Tolga Demiryol, President of Canakkale Intenational Student Association Ahmet Arican, President of Trakya International Student Association Hakan Caliskan, representatives from various NGOs and international students, attended the event, which was a unison of dozens of colors and cultures.
Speaking at the event, Tolga Demiryol, while mentioning of 150 thousand international students from 203 different countries in Turkey, said, “UDEF has been running activities related to international students for 15 years. We want spread of peace and brotherhood all over the world.”
Reminding of the final program to be held on 4 May in Istanbul, Demiryol thanked all the Turkish organizations for their efforts for holding the event of Bosnia Herzegovina.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yildirim extended his gladness in hosting the event and further said, “ We wish to see more international students and enhancement in the cultural values of our university.”
Ghanaian student Adam Mubarak who introduced his country’s culture and uncovered facts said, “I have been in Bosnia for 6 years. It is amazing here. Summers are as that of Africa but the winters are as that of Europe. And everyone treats each other equally.”
In the event, international students of IUS opened stands in order to introduce their culture and tradition to the visitors.
